Bergamot’s return
A coveted destination if ever there was one, Ithaque embodies the essence of the ultimate journey. This Ionian island is forever linked to Ulysses, the hero of Greek mythology, whose decade-long voyage home is immortalized in Homer’s Odyssey. To imagine its fragrance is to navigate obstacles, to craft a formula capable of enchanting creatures, deities, and chimeras—but above all, of captivating the skin, only to rediscover it anew.
Land in sight! The sea spray dances in the air, carrying the energy needed to complete the crossing. A fragrance requires the invigorating power of citrus, the inviting song of its zest. Italian bergamot oil, bitter orange, and Italian mandarin take flight—vibrant, tonic, green.
As the island’s contours emerge, so too do its spices and berries, bold and full of conviction: black pepper oil from Madagascar, pink pepper, Timut pepper oil from Nepal, juniper berries. Anticipation builds, charged with the memory of a long-awaited reunion, expressed through the sweetness of fruits and flowers: blackcurrant bud absolute, redcurrant accord, raspberry note, Egyptian jasmine absolute.
And then, solid ground at last—the reassurance of home. A deeper, more embracing warmth takes hold: cedarwood oil from Texas, patchouli from Indonesia. Ithaca, at last.
Bergamot
A unique process is used to lastingly capture the vibrant citrus note from the coveted green rind of the fresh Italian bergamot. A network of dedicated growers guarantees the quality of the harvests from November to February.
Perfumer's inspiration
"I have kept such a vivid memory of the smell of fresh almonds in summer, very much linked to holidays and carefree happiness . I love the crunchy, green natural feeling, the slightly floral facets and also the delicate milky sensation. I have enjoyed dearly working on this perfume trying to recreate this strong memory of happiness and joy."
